$450,000 Raised by L.A. Professional Services Industry

The National Jewish Health and Los Angeles Professional Services Black & White Ball on June 8 raised more than $450,000 for the nation’s number one respiratory hospital, National Jewish Health. The black-tie gala, held at the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel, drew 420 professionals from the Los Angeles region. The 40th annual event honored apparel industry powerhouses Harry W. Friedman, Rosenthal & Rosenthal of California Inc., and R. Douglas Smith, Smith Mandel & Associates LLP, for their devotion to the professional services industry and to the mission of National Jewish Health.

The evening was presented by Rosenthal and Rosenthal of California Inc., Jodi Kristopher, Connected Apparel, Tantrum Apparel, and Smith Mandel & Associates LLP.

Dinner Chairs Ronald S. Friedman of Marcum LLP and Fred F. Lionetti of Continental Business Credit Inc. presented the Humanitarian Awards to the honorees. Honoree Committee Co-Chairs Jeff Enoch of Rosenthal and Rosenthal of California Inc., and Robert Lewin of CIT Commercial Services, also helped honor Friedman and Smith.

“The National Jewish Health Humanitarian Award is given to those who have made significant civic and charitable contributions to the community and beyond,” said Lionetti. “Our honorees tonight, Harry Friedman and Doug Smith, exemplify the humanitarian spirit of this award.”

Dinner Co-Chair Debbie R. Steinberg, CIT, thanked representatives from John Paul Richard Inc., M.X.F. Designs Inc., 360 Sweater, EVY of California Inc., Buchalter Nemer, and Providence Industries, as well as ESP Group Ltd. and James Perse, for their support and sponsorship of the 2013 event.
