National Jewish Health to Host 35th Annual Pulmonary & Allergy Update
DENVER —
The 35th Annual National Jewish Health Pulmonary & Allergy Update, February 6-9, 2013, provides allergists, pulmonologists and general practitioners the opportunity to learn the latest information on management and treatment options for allergic, respiratory and immune diseases. The program, co-chaired by National Jewish professors Harold Nelson, MD, Erwin Gelfand, MD, and Richard Martin, MD, highlights insights and recent advances, while offering opportunities to network with colleagues and nationally recognized experts.
“For 35 years medical professionals have used what they’ve learned at this conference to improve care of their patients who suffer from chronic diseases,” said Dr. Nelson. “This conference provides tremendous opportunity to learn from some of the best teachers in the nation.”
The four-day conference features lectures and case-based workshops with pulmonary and allergy/immunology focuses. This year pulmonary topics include the role of infection in asthma, diagnosis and management of refractory asthma, steroid insensitivity, preventability of asthma and the role of gastroesophageal reflux in asthma. The allergy/immunology topics cover drug allergies, allergy to metal and cement in joint replacements, food allergy, the impact of global warming on allergies, and non-tuberculous mycobacterial infections.
All participants will observe presentations and participate in case-study discussions with National Jewish Health faculty. Attendees can earn 14.5 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM or 15 CE nursing contact hours. National Jewish Health is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians, and is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing to provide continuing nursing education.
