National Jewish Health Appoints John F. Zwetchkenbaum, MD, CPI, as National Trustee
DENVER —
National Jewish Health announces the appointment of John F. Zwetchkenbaum, MD, CPI, as a member of its Council of National Trustees. Trustees act as ambassadors for National Jewish Health, the nation’s #1 respiratory hospital, by helping to organize events, raise funds and spread the word about the institution in their communities throughout the country. Dr. Zwetchkenbaum sees asthma and allergy patients at the Asthma and Allergy Physicians of Rhode Island, which has multiple locations throughout the state.
“National Jewish Health provided the foundation for my approach to patient care, focusing on getting at the cause of the patient’s problem instead of just treating it,” said Dr. Zwetchkenbaum.
Dr. Zwetchkenbaum is a native of Rhode Island and has been repeatedly voted a “Top Doc” by Rhode Island Monthly magazine. In addition to treating patients, Dr. Zwetchkenbaum is a certified principal investigator with AAPRI Clinical Research Institute and helps bring cutting-edge treatments to market through scientific studies that evaluate the efficacy of medications.
“Dr. Zwetchkenbaum’s fellowship at National Jewish Health following his education at Brown University, Boston University School of Medicine and George Washington University Hospital created a deep connection to the institution’s mission; he is an incredible asset to National Jewish Health,” said National Jewish Health President and CEO Michael Salem, MD.
National Jewish Health is known worldwide for treatment of patients with respiratory, cardiac, immune and related disorders, and for groundbreaking medical research. Founded in 1899 as a nonprofit hospital, National Jewish Health remains the only facility in the world dedicated exclusively to these disorders. Since 1998, U.S. News & World Report has ranked National Jewish Health the #1 respiratory hospital in the nation.
