Event Raises Funds to Support National Jewish Health, Nation’s Number One Respiratory Hospital

Academy Award-winner Joe Pesci, Desi Arnaz Jr., Christopher Knight and a host of other talented celebrities attended the 20th annual “Breath of Life Celebrity Golf Classic” hosted by music legend Tommy DeVito and friends.

The event on June 3 and 4 drew nearly 100 guests and raised more than $84,000 for National Jewish Health, ranked the nation’s number one respiratory hospital for 14 consecutive years. The two-day event kicked off with a celebrity pairing party at Caesars Palace on Sunday and was followed the next day with the Golf Tournament at Cascata Golf Club in Boulder City, Nev.

Golf teams were matched with celebrities, including DeVito, Pesci, Arnaz and Knight. Additional celebrities participating in the event were actress Leslie Easterbrook (“Police Academy”), actor and vocalist Michael Pointek (“Phantom of the Opera”), actress and singer Paige O’Hara (“Beauty and the Beast” and “Menopause: The Musical”), singer Anthony Gourdine (Little Anthony and the Imperials), PGA golfer Jeff Gallagher, Joseph Barbara and Devon May (“Jersey Boys”), and renowned chefs Gustav Mauler, Geno Bernardo and Lucciano Pellegrino. Arnaz’s team was the tournament winner.

Co-chairs of the event were Michael Minden and National Jewish Health Trustees John Knott II and Brad Schnepf. Other committee members included Scott Bogatz, Esq.; Charles E. Bombard; Caesar Fonte; Alan F. Gordon; Brian Padgett, Esq.; George Pecoraro; Paul Robarts; Rossi Ralenkotter and Steve Schorr, who is a National Jewish Health Trustee.
