15th Annual Golf and Tennis Tournament at Brae Burn Country Club raises $260,000

On July 18, a Who’s Who of New York’s real estate, financialand investment professionals took to the golf course, tennis courts and swimming pool at Brae Burn Country Club in Purchase, N.Y., to raise $260,000 for the National Jewish Health Fund to Cure Asthma.  

“It was a great day,” said Robert Helpern, one of five chairs of the event, which attracted 140 participants.

The National Jewish Health Fund to Cure Asthma was founded in 1994 by Nancyand James Berry Hill and Marjorie and Stephen Raphael, who experienced the devastating effects of asthma and were impressed by the level of excellence of asthma research and treatment at National Jewish Health. Since its inception, more than $4.5 million has been raised to support the work of physicians andscientists at National Jewish Health who seek to better understand, treat and develop a cure for asthma. More than 34 million Americans, including 9.6 million children, suffer from asthma; in the past 20 years, the prevalence of asthma inAmericahas increased 75 percent. National Jewish Health, based in Denver, has been named by U.S. News & World Report as the nation’s#1 respiratory hospital for 14 consecutive years and is respected byphysicians, scientists and patients as the global leader in asthma and other respiratory, cardiac, immune and related diseases.
