33rd Annual Pulmonary & Allergy Update

Allergists, pulmonologists and general practitioners can learn the approaches and methods used to diagnose and treat allergic, respiratory and immune diseases at the 33rd Annual Pulmonary & Allergy Update conference hosted by National Jewish Health. February 2-5, 2011. The program at the Keystone Conference Center, 90 miles west of Denver, is co-chaired by National Jewish professors Harold Nelson, MD, Richard Martin, MD, and Erwin Gelfand, MD, and is a great opportunity to interact with the world’s leading specialists.

“This conference will assist all medical professionals in treating their patients who suffer from these conditions,” said Dr. Nelson. “It is a tremendous opportunity to learn from some of the best teachers in the nation.”

The four-day conference will feature lectures and case-based workshops with pulmonary and allergy/immunology focuses.  Pulmonary topics include cystic fibrosis research developments, bronchial thermoplasty for asthma, chronic cough, GERD and asthma/cough and airway remodeling.  The allergy/immunology topics cover atopic dermatitis, pediatric and adult food allergy, novel approaches to immunotherapy, chronic urticaria, and eosinophilic esophagitis.  New to this year's line up of speakers includes Donald Leung, editor of the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, and a NJH professor of pediatrics.

All participants will observe presentations by national speakers and take part in case study discussion workshops interacting with National Jewish Health Faculty.  Attendees can earn 16 CME credits or 16.8 CE nursing contact hours. National Jewish Health is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians and is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the California Board of Registered Nursing.   The majority of these talks may qualify towards ABMS Maintenance of Certification compliment programs, including MOC programs by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology, Internal Medicine, Otolaryngology and Family Medicine.
