Dr. Salem to Join David Gergen and a Distinguished Group of Colorado Civic and Business Leaders at Inaugural Community Event
Michael Salem, MD, President and CEO of National Jewish Health, will join CNN's David Gergen, Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper, Denver Public Schools Superintendent Tom Boasberg and other Colorado executives to share insights on leadership and business strategies at the inaugural Denver Leadership Summit, May 6, 2009, at The Ritz-Carlton, Denver. Dr. Salem will be on a panel titled, "Adapting Your Business Strategies During a Time of Heightened Economic Uncertainty."
"In this difficult economic climate, with the pace of change accelerating, knowing how to adapt is crucial to running a successful business," said Dr. Salem. "I look forward to contributing lessons I have learned in healthcare, and to learning from some of the best civic and business minds in Colorado."
Other executives participating in the panel include: Gary Black, CEO, Janus Capital Group; Greg Maffei, President and CEO, Liberty Media Corporation; Joanne Maguire, EVP, and Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company.
The half-day Summit concludes with a luncheon and Gergen's keynote address, "Leadership in America," which will include his perspective on President Obama's first 100 days in office, among other topics.
The Denver Leadership Summit will provide important lessons and timely perspectives to Denver-area executives who are navigating one of the most challenging economic environments in our country's history. By tapping Colorado leaders from a variety of sectors, the Summit will offer attendees a first-hand account of the opportunities and challenges facing our community.
