Jane E. Gross, MD, PhD

Special Interests

Dr. Gross leads the Adult Transition Cystic Fibrosis Clinic and serves as the Associate Director, CF Therapeutics Development Center at NJH. Her research has recently focused on understanding the acquisition and transmission of nontuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) among people with cystic fibrosis (CF). She recently developed an original study protocol for an ongoing trial designed to standardize the approach to NTM outbreak investigation among people with CF. This study has served to broaden the scope of independent NTM investigations and demonstrate the frequency and nature of healthcare-associated NTM acquisition and transmission among people with CF nationwide. Dr. Gross received the Health Professions Scholarship Program award from the United States Army and served as an active duty Army physician for 14 years. She reached the rank of Colonel and worked in a variety of roles as a physician, including deploying in support of Operation Enduring Freedom-Philippines and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
