Inspirational Speaker Headlines ‘New Directions for Women’ March Luncheon

Fabulous Raffle and Luncheon Benefit National Jewish Health, #1 Respiratory Hospital

Everyone who attends the March 5 “New Directions for Women” luncheon will feel energized after hearing from keynote speaker and noted dietician Zonya Foco, and several will be winners of great prizes including trips, jewelry and designer handbags. “New Directions for Women,” which benefits the nation’s number one respiratory hospital, National Jewish Health, takes place at St. Andrews Country Club in Boca Raton.

Foco is a registered dietitian, certified health and fitness instructor, and certified speaking professional. She is also a master of inspiration, motivation and visual humor, providing information and simple solutions to help people improve their health, create balance and maximize energy. An experienced author, television personality and speaker, Foco helps people laugh at their bad habits and discover the joy of adopting new, healthier habits.

Raffle prizes for the event include a seven-day cruise on Holland America Line and getaway packages to Fontainebleau Miami Beach Resort, Bluegreen Resort Villas in Orlando or St. Augustine, and Hilton New Orleans/St. Charles, Louisiana. Jewelry by Judith Ripka and Kiara; designer handbags by Nancy Gonzalez and Stefano; and a Saks Fifth Avenue shopping spree are also among the prizes. All prizes were donated to National Jewish Health for this raffle. The “New Directions for Women” luncheon continues a long tradition of informative and fun events provided by local community leaders in support of the important mission of National Jewish Health. For decades, fundraising events, gatherings and educational programs offered by National Jewish Health in Florida have drawn hundreds of local supporters. And since the 1950s members of the Florida auxiliary of National Jewish Health have raised millions of dollars to further the work of the nation’s number one respiratory hospital in Denver, Colo. Co-chairs of this event are Jane Mandell, an active volunteer in the community, and Lisa Jensen, the vice president and market manager for First Southern Bank. The committee members include Kathy Fryburg, Carol Gottleib, Rhona Guberman, Judy Haas, Dolores Hartzmark, Anne Jacobson, Linda Myrick, Myrna Norwitz, Jewel Prince, Glenaan Robbins, Donna Robins, Lila Siegel, Sheila Stern, Barbara Tornberg, Elaine Weinberg, Scarlet Weiss and Donna Zweben.
